CREA-RE: Remote Mobile Management System
The CREA-RE software platform, developed by CREALAB, is a sophisticated tool which makes possible the real-time
interaction between a Call Centre operator and a customer's mobile phone during a support call.
CREA-RE enables the complete remote control of a mobile device, so as to be able to make modifications of the
configuration parameters of the device and further more have proof of the changes made.
The platform permits the control of mobile device, based on Open Systems (Symbian, Windows Mobile, etc),
equipped with a special client software. The system comprises an application component at server side and a client to be installed on the
mobile system which communicate with the server in TCP/IP.
The system enables to read many of the terminal's parameters (IMEI, IMSI, battery level, network level, memory, etc.),
the operating (reading, modification, elimination, etc.) of many of the essential parameters for the correct utilisation
of the available services (WAP, MMS, APN, E-Mail, Bookmarks, etc.), to send of all types of file, the managing of applications
and task management in the mobile phone.
This system represents a powerful tool in the first and second level support for the diagnostics of problems and is much
more efficient than the transmission of self-configured messages in OTA.
In respect to similar existing solutions, which are based on OMA/DM standards, this solution makes it possible to manage a
range of "old" devices not OAM/DM compliant and, most of all, it offers a series of functions which will become part of the
OMA/DM standards only in the future.
The architecture of the platform, based on J2EE, XML, AJAX and SOAP standards, enables a simple and fast customization,
along with an easy integration with the existing and future Customer Care Systems, BSS, etc..
The proprietary communication protocol, between Client and Server, based on TCP/IP transport, permits a high level of
security and high level of performances in the Over-the-Air communication on the mobile network between the two components,
even when there are not optimal transmission speed conditions. Also it must be kept in mind that the dimension of the Client
is minimal and it is fully compatible with all other terminal applications installed.
The Customer's Right to Privacy is protected trough a process of sending specific messages, to which the Customer must give
an explicit confirmation to, and the whole process is registered by the System.

MjSIP
MjSip is a complete java-based implementation of a SIP stack.
It provides in the same time the API and implementation bound together into the MjSip packages.
MjSip is available open source under the terms of the GNU GPL license (General Public Licence) as published by the Free Software Foundation.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) signaling standard for managing multimedia session initiation; it is currently defined in RFC 3261. SIP can be used to initiate voice, video and multimedia sessions, for both interactive applications (e.g. an IP phone call or a videoconference) and not interactive ones (e.g. a Video Streaming), and it is the more promising candidate as call setup signaling for the present day and future IP based telephony services. SIP has been also proposed for session initiation related uses, such as for messaging, gaming, etc.
The MjSip stack has been used in research activities by Dpt. of Information Engineering at University of Parma and by DIE -
University of Roma "Tor Vergata" and is currently commercially exploited by CreaLab.
